Biography:

  • Vice President - Western States Council of Sheet Metal Workers

Roy began his career in the sheet metal industry by graduating from the apprenticeship program in 1966.  After graduation, he worked in the sheet metal trade for several of our signatory contractors.  While he was working with the tools, Roy was an instructor for the JATC and served on the Local Union 108 Executive Board for six years.  After serving on the Executive Board, he was elected to a Business Representative position and served nine years in that capacity.  Roy also served six years as the Recording Secretary for Local Union 108 prior to becoming the Business Manager/Financial Secretary-Treasurer in 1996.  At the time of the merger of Local Union 108 and Local Union 102, Roy was appointed by the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association to Business Manager/President for the newly formed Local Union 105.

Roy has served on many committees for the Local Union, the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, the Trust Funds and the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association.  A few of these committees are listed below:
